About Scott Holden
I discovered the game as a caddie. Fell in love with it as a junior player. Progressed a bit more in college; then decided to test my game on the mini tours after graduation. After a 9 year Mini Tour career my passion shifted from trying to advance my own playing career – to helping others advance theirs. I taught through the PGA of America for a short time then was very fortunate to begin a 20 year teaching career with the David Leadbetter Organization in 1993. I’ve been extremely blessed to have learned so much from so many talented and dedicated golf professionals over the years.
Having been in and around the game for over 45 years, these varied experiences have not only shaped my opinions of the game, but my “teaching style”, as well. You can get a feel for these opinions and my “Teaching Style” by viewing the content in my “videos” section of my website. I’d like to draw attention to the fact that this video content will be very general in nature; I will share much more specific or “PERSONALIZED” advice to those who wish to send me video of their swing online or better yet, visit me in person.
I have enclosed a copy of my resume in an effort to allow any and all visitors to get to know me and where I come from. If you look closely at my resume you will see that I was extremely fortunate to enter the Golf Instruction Industry during an unprecedented period of growth and popularity. This allowed me to travel extensively throughout the US and overseas and to be apart of much of what the David Leadbetter Golf Academies had developed. David Leadbetter, and his organization, made me a better player and a far better instructor. He challenged all of his associates to dedicate themselves to mastering their craft and investing themselves in their students.
I often joke with my clients, that “golf is a horrible game.” Well, it is. It’s also a fantastic game; one of the best and most difficult. My hope is that, through this website, and my personal instruction, I can share some quality information with the golfing public that will help them play the game – just a little bit better.
